Lawrence Rowe hails from the community of Bellefield Manchester, and attended the Bellefield High School. He pursued higher education at the G.C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport and then Temple University in Pennsylvania, USA.
Mr. Rowe has had an impressive inning ever since he joined the staff at the Sydney Pagon Stem Academy in St. Elizabeth in September 1996.
He is a gentleman who wears many hats. He has served as Teacher of Physical Education, Dean of Discipline, Vice Principal, Principal; a position that he previously held at Mile Gully High and currently Belair High School.
In April 2015, Mr. Rowe was selected as one (1) of two (2) educators to represent Jamaica at the 2015 Seminar for Primary and Secondary School Principals from Developing Countries, in Shanghai China.
He serves as Executive Member Inter Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA), Executive Member Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA), and Executive Member Jamaica Association of Principal’s of Secondary Schools (JAPSS), Vice Chairman Board of Directors Manchester Parish Library and member Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Disciplinary Committee and Chairman Manchester Football Association Disciplinary Committee.
Mr. Rowe continues to make strides in the educational field and has evolved into an exemplary leader. He is a passionate educator who considers himself as an unconventional transformational leader. His exemplary leadership qualities, sustained academic performance of schools under his stewardship and general model of excellence has seen him being recognized by the National College for Educational Leadership (NCEL) as one (1) of six (6) principals to be inducted in the Executive Principals’ League.
Mr. Rowe also believes in volunteerism and service above self, hence as a member of the Rotary Club of Mandeville he finds time to offer himself in service to the Club. This esteemed gentleman is lauded by his staff, colleagues, parents and family members as a high achieving, disciplined, meticulous and goal oriented individual.
